Canon expands MAXIFY range with new MegaTank models - with low total cost of ownership for home offices and small businesses
Canon MAXIFY GX6050 Multifunction Inkjet Color Printer - Canon today announces the expansion of the company's MAXIFY range with the MAXIFY GX3050 and MAXIFY GX4050: two new printers ideal for small businesses or those working from home. Built with collaboration, efficiency and productivity in mind, the expanded range covers a wide range of printing needs in different workplaces - whether for hybrid work from home or when running a small business.
Space-saving and cost-effective
Both models are equipped with refillable MegaTank ink tanks and feature low total cost of ownership and low cost per page. They are user-friendly and easy to maintain, saving you time and keeping you focused on the business. Downtime is reduced to an absolute minimum with high-performance printing of up to 14,000 pages from one set of ink bottles[i]- or up to 21,000 pages when using Economy Print Mode[ii]- while the high paper capacity of up to 350 sheets (250-sheet cassette and 100-sheet rear tray feed) and a user-replaceable maintenance cartridge reduce the need to send the printer for service.
Designed specifically for small businesses and home offices, both the MAXIFY GX3050 and MAXIFY GX4050 offer fast copying and scanning, as well as professional-quality printing with the refillable ink tanks featuring 4-colour pigment-based inks. The two printers have a compact desktop design: they take up very little space and fit easily into the home office.
High productivity and easy collaboration
When sharing work between home and office - or sharing space in an office community - the fast print speeds ensure users don't have to wait to print documents. Both models deliver fast print speeds of up to 18.0 pages/min in black and white and 13.0 pages/min in colour.
With 4-colour pigment-based inks, both printers are ideal for producing high-quality business prints on a variety of media. Canon has specially developed the pigment-based ink to produce prints with crisp, legible black text and clear text and graphics in colour. In addition, improvements have been made to colour reproduction and contrast compared to previous MAXIFY GX models. These pigment-based inks are also resistant to smudging and smearing, so documents look professional and can be confidently displayed and shared.
The cassette has a window to see how much paper is left and can hold 250 sheets of plain paper, and the rear tray holds 100 sheets so there's no need to keep refilling paper. The printers also have a flat rear tray that supports a variety of media types and formats, including the ability to feed cardboard - so you can cover a wide range of different printing needs with a single printer.
In addition, the new MAXIFY GX models support Chromebook, with support for direct printing and scanning from Chrome OS. The printers also support a range of other operating systems, including Mac, Windows, iOS and Android.
Easy maintenance
Both the MAXIFY GX3050 and MAXIFY GX4050 are user-friendly and easy to maintain thanks to improved hardware design, a touchscreen (MAXIFY GX4050 only) and elegant interfaces. Refilling the printers has never been easier - with spring-loaded, colour-coded ink caps, users can refill the tank simply by lifting their finger, all without wasting ink. What's more, the maintenance cartridge is now located on the front of the printers, so users can easily access and replace it.
Hassle-free connectivity at work
The printers offer smart connectivity options, giving MAXIFY users the ability to print, scan, copy and connect to the cloud via the Canon PRINT app and take advantage of compatibility with existing software and technology platforms, including AirPrint and Mopria®. When connected via Wi-Fi, the printers detect signal strength and security levels: when there are multiple access points, they will automatically connect to the point with the best security and data connection, ensuring you always have a stable connection. Through various countermeasures - including WPA3-SAE, WPA3-EAP(AES) and TLS 1.3 encryption - the MAXIFY GX3050 and MAXIFY GX4050 limit the risk of unauthorised access and data leakage.
Versatile media support for print
Posters, POS materials and other cardboard prints that would otherwise be sent out can now be produced using the MAXIFY GX3050 and MAXIFY GX4050, saving small businesses money on marketing materials. To support in-house printing, both printers are now compatible with various media applications, including printing on cardboard from the all-new flat rear tray. PosterArtist Web can be used to create eye-catching posters without having to be a graphic designer: the program's templates, automatic design and free stock photos help create great results. It's accessible online via a web browser, so you can edit where you want, when you want.
