Canon MAXIFY GX5040 Refillable Tank Multifunction Printer-Aimed at professionals, the Canon Maxify GX5050 is a single-function inkjet printer with ink tanks from the MegaTank range. A model that tackles a market dominated by laser printers.

The Canon Maxify GX5050 is a single-function color inkjet printer with ink tanks. It is sold for €449.99 including tax, while an equivalent inkjet cartridge or laser printer is around half the price. However, this model aims to appeal to businesses with a much lower cost per page and greater autonomy than traditional printers.

The Maxify GX5050 is similar to the GX7050 tested on Les Numériques. It differs by renouncing the scanner, which makes it a monofunction. In addition, it is equipped with a smaller, non-touch screen. Finally, it leaves one of the two paper cassettes of the GX7050. However, it retains a second paper inlet at the rear of the printer.

For the rest, the GX5050 is in all respects identical to the GX7050. It therefore retains its many advantages in terms of office automation, with high print speeds (32 ppm recorded in monochrome and 21 ppm in color), as well as an exceptionally low cost per page (0.005 € in monochrome and 0.01 € in color). Finally, its ink tanks give it excellent autonomy. It is thus possible to print up to 6,000 pages in monochrome or 14,000 pages in color, without having to intervene. Even better, the economy mode allows you to reach an autonomy of 9,000 pages in monochrome or 21,000 pages in color. However, it will be criticized for noise pollution.
